One person is missing after a bride and groom’s home exploded while they were away getting married.

Officials said the explosion occurred around 5 p.m. local time at an Illinois home in the 2200 block of Central Avenue where six people lived, according to CBS affiliate WBBM-TV and NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV.

The explosion, which fire officials suspect was caused by a gas leak, caused a large fire.

Tom Davis and Eleni Vrettos learned that their home exploded just moments after their wedding ceremony concluded, ABC affiliate WLS-TV reported.

“I ran here in my wedding dress, like down the alley, and was watching from a neighbor’s yard,” Vrettos said, according to CW affiliate WGN-TV. “Everything was just smoke at that point.”

One person’s body was found in the debris on Sunday, Feb. 16, according to FOX affiliate WFLD. The victim killed in the explosion has not been identified.

WBBM-TV reported that a wedding guest had been missing after leaving the event in his mother’s car, but it’s unclear if it’s the person who died at this time.

Meanwhile, the bride, who grew up in the now-destroyed home, said six cats were inside when the blast occurred, according to WGN-TV and WMAQ-TV.

“Now I don’t have a home and on top of it, I don’t have them as my home,” She said. “That’s the most devastating because they’re the ones that give me the comfort through that darkness.”

She added, “My dad passed away a few years ago so we don’t have the home as a remembrance of him, too. It’s a lot to grieve.”

The home was being renovated at the time of the explosion, Davis said, WLS-TV reported.

The family was also in the process of transferring their home insurance, “meaning they have no coverage to help them recover from this devastating loss,” according to Julissa Martinez, who organized a GoFundMe campaign to support them.

More than $42,000 has been raised through the GoFundMe campaign as of Tuesday, Feb. 18.

“The Vrettos family has always been kind, generous, and full of love—now they need our support more than ever,” Martinez wrote in the fundraiser’s description.

An investigation into the explosion is ongoing, according to the reports.

The Cicero Fire Department did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
